It looks a bit like Mulberry, doesn't it? Here's the description from the website:
"A super-stylish, super-slim bag, designed as an antidote to ubiquitous and burdensome laptop cases."
That kind of made me laugh a little.
Speaking of antidote, I had a dream last night that I got poisoned with dimethylmercury. (Sad story of Karen Wetterhahn)

Roots Patent Leather Computer Bag.

Source: Roots
It's not so shiny that people might, God forbid, mistake it for polished vinyl. (Speaking of vinyl bags, people are still carrying around that Chanel garbage bag-looking tote.)
It's simple and functional with a padded interior, top zipper, and front pocket. Computer bags are usually ugly and/or expensive, so if you're looking for a decent bag to carry around your laptop, definitely consider this.

Salvatore Ferragamo Revival Computer Bag.

Source: Saks
The computer bag itself looks nice, but the laptop sleeve is awful. It's probably not even padded sufficiently to provide any real protection. If you're not a fan of the tobacco brown, it also comes in black. Notice that the studs on the handles match the body of the bag: this blending-in is preferable to naked hardware such as on this Tod's briefcase.

Mulberry Laptop Bag.

Source: Barneys
That front horizontal zipper just kills it. Otherwise, this could have made a perfect laptop bag. If they stitched a thin leather flap to cover the zipper teeth, that would have made a world of difference.
I see a sad, sad face in that bag.

Vivienne Westwood Leather Computer Bag.

Source: JRansomLA
There are so many things wrong with this bag, it'd be easier to put a whole zucchini in my mouth than to calmly enumerate the shortcomings of this Vivienne Westwood bag. But I'll try.
1) There's a giant orb and crown embossed on the front. That's her signature mark and all, but it's a little unnecessary.
2) The hardware looks cheap.
3) The zipper pulls are oversized.
4) There's an ugly plaid trim.
5) The handles look flimsy.
6) There's more ugly orb and crown logo lining the inside of the bag (not shown).
7) The price is unjustifiable.
What a truly grotesque bag. I can find a better Kenneth Cole computer bag at TJ Maxx for 1/20 of the price.

A.G. Fronzoni For Valextra.

Source: Valextra
This briefcase (the "Premier") was designed by A.G. Fronzoni for Valextra back in 1973. Fast forward thirty-four years, and it can be used as a computer bag. I'm not too enthralled by the coffee-with-too-much-creme color; a deep red or indigo would be nice, though. The handle doesn't look too comfortable either. Eh, I'll probably never see this bag in person anyways.

Henry Beguelin Computer Bag.

Source: Barneys
Do second-tier brands just charge an exorbitant price and hope it becomes a trendy item? Don't get me wrong, Henry Beguelin bags are of excellent quality, but seriously, you pay the price for designer goods because of the label. (This applies to Bottega Veneta and Valextra as well. No bag, no matter how well-made and no matter how soft the leather is, is worth $1500 and up. You pay for "exclusivity" as well.) I believe in incremental rise in price commensurate with perceived desirability of the brand. For example, when Dsquared wasn't that popular, the price was comparable to that of Diesel. Now, it's up in the Jil Sander stratosphere.
I may just be ranting because I don't like earthy-looking bags.
Available at Barneys for $1750.

Louis Vuitton Computer Bag.

Source: Eluxury
The design of the Louis Vuitton Odessa computer bag is very basic, but combined with the durable and sleek taiga leather, it becomes an elegant bag your laptop would be proud to call home-on-the-road. As an added bonus, it comes with an extra pouch for annoying computer cords that you normally kind of stuff anywhere (well, at least I do). It has plenty of pockets and compartments so you'll be well-organized even if you're hurriedly writing a PowerPoint presentation on the plane. However, although the bag has space for papers and documents, there's not a lot of space. This can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on who you are, and as always, the detachable shoulder strap is a big bonus.
The question is, would you buy a laptop bag that is more expensive than your laptop?
Available at Eluxury for $1710.

Colorful Laptop Bags From Valextra.

Source: Valextra
It never occurred to me that you can have more than one laptop bag. My only gripe about them is that they're not padded enough. I don't like using a laptop sleeve because it's a hassle to zip and unzip every time you take your laptop out. I guess zip-less sleeves exist, but the point still stands that the bags should be padded more generously.
Available at select Saks and Barneys.

Cute Computer Bag.

Source: Asprey
Trust me, I'm more upset than you that I said 'cute'.
But it really is. I love the light blue color, and the compartments are so neat and organized. I should really try to model my life after this.
